Rabies Vaccine Clinic – For World Rabies Day, Animal Control and the Health Department will host a Rabies Vaccine Clinic Saturday, September 25th from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Health Department, 1955 US-1 South in St. Augustine. Rabies vaccinations will be available for $7 per animal, and micro-chipping for $20 per animal. Cash or check payments will be accepted. For more info call Animal Control at (904) 209-6190. Field Services & Pet Center
The Officers of Animal Control are in the field 5 days a week. They respond to various concerns from setting cat traps, looking for stray dogs / cats, to checking on the welfare of animals. We also have an Officer on call (Emergencies Only) 7 nights a week, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (904) 829-2226.
The Division of Animal Control has 4 full-time Animal Control Officers on staff at this time. Our Animal Control Officers are here to protect both the citizens and the pets of St. Johns County. They do this by enforcing the laws established by our County; laws that were established to safeguard both our citizens and their pets.
Our Pet Center has an excellent staff that feeds, waters, cleans, and medicates the animals in our care. We have 2 veterinary technicians that process every animal that comes through our door. The animals are looked over thoroughly, scanned for microchips, and given needed medications. The Pet Center has a wide variety of dogs and cats that are looking for a loving home. We encourage you to bring your family and your “furry” family members to interact and ensure a good fit. Please come visit us soon!
