Health & Human Services Advisory Council
This Board meets on call, as needed, during application review period and at 4:30 p.m. on the next to last Thursday of each month, in the Mental Health Conference Room of the Health & Human Services Center, 1955 U.S. 1 South. Its Executive Board meets the first Friday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Substance Abuse Group Room, Mental Health Department.
HHSAC was established by Resolution 95-166, amended by Resolution 98-85, Resolution 06-60 and Resolution 07-203. The Council is comprised of 13 members serving four-year terms with a limit of two consecutive terms. Members must be registered voters of St. Johns County. Pursuant to Section 3-D of Resolution 06-60, no employee, board member, officer or consultant to a contracted agency receiving County funds for health, mental health, substance abuse, or social services program shall be a member of the Health and Human Services Advisory Council.
Members shall be appointed as follows: five (5) professionals, preferably one from each of the disciplines of Health, Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Social Services; and four (4) at-large members, including but not limited to such compatible areas as business, banking and finance, education, law enforcement, religious community leaders, consumers and any other interested parties comprising the general public.
