Fleet Maintenance

Our Program Description

The Fleet Maintenance Division performs all levels of repairs on County-owned equipment. The County Fleet consists of approximately 850 pieces of equipment, ranging from small lawn mowers to heavy equipment bull dozers. Currently, less than 2% of Fleet Maintenance work is contracted out.

In addition, we provide our services to other agencies such as the Council On Aging, and the St. Johns Community College Police Academy.

Our Mission Statement

  • To provide timely, reliable and cost effective repair service with an emphasis on pro-active (rather than re-active) service.
  • To assure that County Fleet assets are maintained at the required levels of reliability for their working environment.
  • To provide technical guidance in support of short-range and long-range fleet operating plans.
  • To foster safety, high morale and job fulfillment.
