Housing Finance Authority

Established March 6, 1980, by Ordinance 80-7 and governed by the Florida Housing Finance Authority Law and Resolution 80-25, this Authority is composed of seven members. Not less than a majority of the members shall be knowledgeable in one of the following fields: labor, finance and commerce. Members serve a four-year term.

Mission

The Authority is authorized, in furtherance of the public purposes described in the Act, to alleviate the shortage of affordable residential housing facilities and to provide capital for investment in such facilities for low, moderate and middle-income families in St. Johns County by issuing its revenue bonds. The Housing Finance Authority consists of seven members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, St. Johns County. The Housing & Community Development Division provides staff support for the HFA.
