2020 Summer Camps Update

COVID-19 UPDATES: For Information regarding St. Johns County's response to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), including closures, cancellations, and access to facilities please visit our St. Johns County Corona Virus (COVID-19) Response site.

The health, safety, and welfare of St. Johns County residents remain the top priorities in the development and implementation of the reopening strategy for our county. St. Johns County leaders continue to closely follow the Governor's executive orders and phased reopening guidelines. While the County is taking every measure to return to normal operations and provide services that our residents enjoy and rely on, we must be responsible in our phasing to ensure a safe reopening.

We were hopeful that the Parks and Recreation Department, 2020 Summer Camp Program would commence as planned; however, after much consideration we have determined that it is not possible to commit to the opening of a full summer camp at this time. We are actively evaluating guidelines from the federal and state levels and pursue the reopening of all services in a phased and safe way.  This difficult decision was based on restrictions required by CDC and the State of Florida's safety guidelines during this unprecedented time. Ensuring the safety and health of our campers is our main concern and for that reason our scheduled programming must be canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Parks and Recreation staff are dedicated to offering camps, trips, and activities that promote healthy, active lifestyles for St. Johns County residents. As Governor DeSantis works through the phased reopening plan, staff continues to develop alternative program options that may be offered at a later date. Please continue to check the SJCPR website (www.sjcfl.us/recreation) and social media outlets for updates on facility openings and future programming options.
