Hastings Hometown Christmas Parade - December 9 – Don't miss this year's holiday parade that takes place at 10 a.m. along Main Street in Hastings. The parade starts at the W.E. Harris Community Center and marches south on Main Street and ends at the library. Keep your eyes peeled as you might find Capt. Reducio and the Public Works team there! Christmas Holiday Hours – In observance of the Christmas holiday, the St. Johns County Solid Waste Division offices will be closed Friday, December 22, and Monday, December 25. Standard business hours will resume on Tuesday, December 26. Garbage and recycling will not be collected on Monday, December 25. Collections will resume on Tuesday, December 26 through Saturday, December 30 and be delayed by a day. The Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road solid waste scale houses will be closed on Monday, December 25 and will resume standard business hours on Tuesday, December 26.
New Year's Holiday Hours – In observance of the New Year's holiday, the St. Johns County Solid Waste Division offices will be closed Monday, January 1. Standard business hours will resume on Tuesday, December 26. Garbage and recycling will not be collected on Monday, January 1. Collections will resume on Tuesday, January 2 through Saturday, January 6 and be delayed by a day. The Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road solid waste scale houses will be closed on Monday, January 1 and will resume standard business hours on Tuesday, January 2.
Christmas Treecycle Program – Help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills during the holidays by taking advantage of this free program. Bring your real Christmas tree to a designated drop-off location so it can be used as mulch in one of our county parks. Only clean, real trees free of decorations will be accepted. Dates for drop off will be Dec. 26, 2023 to Jan. 3, 2024, from 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. For more information, contact SJC Parks & Recreation Main Office at 904-209-0333.

- Mills Field: 1805 Racetrack Rd.
- Davis Park: 210 Davis Park Rd.
- Tillman Ridge Transfer Station: 3005 Allen Nease Rd. (closes at 1p.m. on Sat. and closed on Sun.)
- Stratton Rd. Transfer Station: 250 N. Stratton Rd. (closes at 1p.m. on Sat. and closed on Sun.)
