Restoration Projects

  • Greening of the Greens
    A team effort between Recreation and Parks' St. Johns Golf Club, Audubon and Florida Native Plant Societies, and kids from the First Tee to restore native habitat at the golf course.
  • Sea Oats Planting
    Donations of sand and sea oats along with volunteers from various organizations all came together in a planting effort to help protect out dune system.

Invasive Species Management

Land managers from agencies such as the County, Guana-Tolomato-Matanzas NERR, Florida Wildlife Commission, Department of Environmental Protection and the Nature Conservancy have joined forces and are now actively removing invasive species from public sites on a monthly basis!

Prescribed fire and invasive control are main components of LRM as is the process of managing the use and development of land resources in a sustainable way.
