Acquisitions

The Real Estate Division is responsible for acquisition of all property, including easement rights, for the County, including Constitutional Officers. These may include transportation, drainage, utilities, parks, library, fire stations, and other county facilities. Staff acquires property utilizing various channels including dedication, condemnation, gift, exchange, purchase of fee simple, and purchase of easement.

Surplus Property

Pursuant to extensive investigation and upon evaluation of the needs of the County, the Board of County Commissioners may declare a parcel as surplus in accordance with Florida Statute 125.35.

Property Management

  • Lease Agreements
    The Real Estate Division is responsible for negotiating lease agreements concerning County property. Staff assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to these agreements. Staff resolves property management issues such as maintenance, renovations, new construction and remodeling through coordination with other County Departments or with outside vendors.
  • Real Property Management
