Racetrack Road Bridge Approach Replacement

Description

The bridge over Racetrack Road (#784052) was the existing 2-way two lane bridge until a couple of years ago when the road was widened by the County and a new bridge (#784069) was constructed just to the north. The older bridge now provides two lanes of traffic for EB traffic only. The typical section of the existing bridge consists of a 4 ft inside shoulder, 2 – 12 ft lanes, 1 – 12 ft striped out lane for future use, and a 6 ft outside shoulder. The existing upstream approach slab of the bridge has significant cracking of the concrete surface in the inside shoulder and both the upstream and downstream approach slabs exhibit signs of settlement. The maintenance of traffic will extend to the west of Lifespring Way and to the east of West Peyton Parkway.
