September 13, 2024 – St. Johns County Parks and Recreation to Offer Extensions for Pier Pass Memberships While Ocean and Fishing Pier Remains Landlocked

The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department will offer extensions to anyone with an annual fishing pass for the St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier for every month the pier remains landlocked.

September 13, 2024 – Barbara Moubray Honored for 20 Years of Service

On September 3, 2024, during the regular St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners meeting, Barbara Moubray, affectionately known as “Mama B,” was recognized for her remarkable 20 years of service as the Administrative Coordinator for the Parks and Recreation Department. 

August 28, 2024 – SJC Opposes Proposed Development of Anastasia State Park

On Wednesday, Aug. 28, St. Johns County joined Northeast Florida leaders in a press conference in response to the recent proposed development of Anastasia State Park. The County’s Office of Public Affairs produced a video recap of the event.

Pink Ribbon Walk Oct. 12 | 8 a.m.

Walkers will gather at the W.E. Harris Center in Hastings before traveling a mile to Al Wilke Park to honor the memory of those who have been lost to breast cancer as well as those still living with it.

Parents’ Night Out: Monster Mash Oct. 18 | 6 – 9 p.m.

Parents, are you in need of a date night or just a few hours of peace and quiet? Drop your kids off for an evening of Halloween fun at Ketterlinus Gym! Participants will eat pizza, play games, dance, and have the opportunity to walk through a haunted house. Costumes are encouraged.

Community Trunk-or-Treat and Movie in the Park Oct. 26 | 5 – 9 p.m.

The Hastings Community Trunk-or-Treat returns on Saturday, Oct. 26! Bring your family to Al Wilke Park for a safe, spooky time with your friends and neighbors, sponsored by St. Johns County Parks and Recreation, the Hastings Branch Library, and Team Up Hastings. On top of all the trunks filled with treats, there will be games and food.

After the trunk-or-treating, stick around for our Halloween Movie in the Park at 7 p.m!

St. Johns County Family Color Run 5K Nov. 16 | 8 a.m.

Get ready to experience a burst of color and fun at the Family Color Run 5K! Whether you’re a seasoned runner or enjoying a leisurely jog, this event is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. Those who attend this mostly off-road run at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds can expect:

  • Official event t-shirt
  • Commemorative medal
  • Professional timing services
  • Color stations along the route
