St. Johns County Recognized May 6 – 10 as Juror Appreciation Week

At the May 7, 2024, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Krista Joseph, District 4 issued a proclamation recognizing May 6 – 10 as Juror Appreciation Week. Representatives from the Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s Office, as well as a juror, attended the meeting to receive the proclamation.

This proclamation reminds us that serving on a jury is not just a duty, but a fundamental part of our democracy. It encourages all citizens to embrace their role when summoned for jury duty because their service is crucial to our judicial system.

We also recognize the importance of making jury duty fair, effective, and hassle-free for everyone involved. That’s why we’re committed to showing our appreciation for jurors and continuously improving the jury system. We believe in educating the public about the significance of jury duty, applauding the dedication of jurors, treating them with the respect they deserve, providing them with the tools they need, and fostering open dialogue between jurors and court officials.
