Strategic Plan Survey

St. Johns County has announced the public has until 5 p.m., April 5 to participate in the 2024 – 2029 Strategic Plan survey available at www.sjcfl.us/sjc-strategic-plan. The intent in adopting a strategic plan in St. Johns County is to engage the public in developing a roadmap for a thriving community. The County has embarked on an aggressive public outreach effort since February for community participation in a new strategic plan and has held six public meetings.

The strategic plan will act as a comprehensive blueprint, guiding the organization’s endeavors in programming, services, operations, infrastructure, and overall county governance. Designed to prioritize mission-critical activities, the strategic plan outlines a clear path for aligning the County’s budget with these priorities. By doing so, it aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the County in serving the community.

The strategic plan is a living document that the County will use to define the future vision for the community. It will allow for:

  • Transparent Prioritization for Effective Decision-Making: Communicate priorities through a credible, forward-thinking framework that facilitates effective budget and policy decisions.
  • Stability Amidst Change: Maintain a guiding “north star” that provides stability and certainty in the face of election cycles, leadership changes, economic fluctuations, and shifts in regulatory environments.
  • Inclusive Decision-Making for All Residents: Make decisions and assess policies, plans, programs, and service delivery with the well-being of all County residents in mind. The commitment is to ensure equitable and inclusive governance for the benefit of the entire community.
