St. Johns County Appoints New Office of Management & Budget Director

Wade Schroeder has served as the OMB Assistant Director since 2016.
During the Aug. 19 St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Wade Schroeder was appointed the new Office of Management & Budget Director.
Schroeder has been the Office of Management & Budget (OMB) Assistant Director since 2016. He has worked exclusively in OMB for over 20 years, navigating the County through the Great Recession, the most recent County growth period, and various moments of disaster recovery.
“Wade has been integral to St. Johns County’s financial success, assisting in guiding us to an AAA bond rating while navigating the Great Recession, the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple natural disasters, and a period of unprecedented growth,” said Joy Andrews, St. Johns County Administrator. “His steady leadership and commitment to conservative financial policies have helped position our County as one of the strongest in the nation.”
In July, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States named St. Johns County a 2023 Triple Crown Winner for earning three distinct awards for communicating their financial information openly and transparently to the public. St. Johns County is one of just 403 governments in the United States and Canada that received the Triple Crown for fiscal year 2023.
Before joining the County, Schroeder worked for the St. Johns County Clerk of the Courts’ Finance department for five years. He holds a BS in Finance from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of West Florida.
