Commissioner Taylor Presents Veterans Day Proclamation

Commissioner Ann Taylor presented the Proclamation on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners.

At the November 4, 2025, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Ann Taylor presented a Proclamation recognizing November 11, 2025, as Veterans Day. It was presented to Colonel Bill Dudley, US Airforce Retired; Colonel Ron Birchall, US Army Ret.; Sergeant Major Joseph McDermott, US Army Retired; Exec. Director of FL. Dept of Veteran Affairs, and Major General James S. Hartsell, US Marine Corp Retired.

St. Johns County, Florida

WHEREAS, St. Johns County Board of Commissioners would like to honor America’s Veterans for their patriotism, love of country, commitment to freedom, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good; and

WHEREAS, Florida is home to approximately 1.4 million Veterans and represents the third largest concentration of veterans in the nation; and

WHEREAS, on this day, let us solemnly remember the sacrifices of the men and women who stepped forward when America needed them, all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom; and

WHEREAS, we resolve that their sacrifices will always be remembered by a grateful Nation. Let us task ourselves to the promotion of an enduring peace so that their efforts shall not have been in vain; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida, that Monday, November 11, 2025, be known as 

VETERANS DAY

With respect for and in recognition of the contributions our service men and women have made

to the cause of peace and freedom around the world.
