May 2026 Proclaimed as 41 Years of Hope Through St. Gerard Campus

Commissioner Taylor presented a proclamation on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners

At the May 5, 2026, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Ann Taylor presented a proclamation on behalf of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners proclaiming May 2026 as 41 Years of Hope Through St. Gerard Campus.

The proclamation was received by Brittany Glisson, Director of St. Gerard Campus and joined my mothers and staff.

The proclamation reads:

WHEREAS, since 1985, St. Gerard Campus has empowered young mothers to graduate high school, develop parenting skills, gain self-sufficiency, and discover their God-given strength and purpose; and

WHEREAS, pregnant and parenting teens often face overwhelming obstacles, including poverty, trauma, housing instability, interrupted education, and limited support systems – yet continue to rise with strength and determination; and

WHEREAS, when a community surrounds young mothers with compassion, structure, accountability, and opportunity, generational cycles can be broken, and futures can be transformed; and

WHEREAS, for 41 years, St. Gerard Campushas faithfully served pregnant and parenting teens in Northeast Florida, providing academic education, safe housing, childcare, life skills

development, and spiritual encouragement; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the Board of County Commissioners of St.

Johns County, Florida, does hereby proclaim the month of May 2026 as

41 Years of Hope Through St. Gerard Campus

and does further acknowledge Teen Mother Awareness Month, recognizing the resilience

of young mothers, affirming their value, and encouraging the continued support of programs that

invest in both mother and child.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida this 5th day of May 2026.
