New SJC Stewardship Video Series Showcases History, Culture, and Conservation Efforts

St. Johns County has launched the SJC Stewardship video series, which explores the unique cultural and historic resources found throughout the county. Each episode showcases a different location, telling the stories of the people, places, and heritage that have shaped St. Johns County’s rich history and culture. The series aims to educate, inspire, and foster community pride. The Office of Public Affairs has produced a video to launch the start of the new series.

The first episode, scheduled for release in July, highlights the Fort Matanzas National Monument, offering viewers a closer look at its history, significance, and role in preserving St. Johns County’s heritage.

“Once you learn about the unique history and heritage of St. Johns County, it’s hard not to take pride in where we live,” said Megan Wright, Environmental Specialist and host of the series.

“We are so excited to launch this new video series,” said Matthew Denny, Digital Media Manager for the Office of Public Affairs. “We hope to not only educate but inspire viewers as we explore the rich history and culture in St. Johns County.”

The SJC Stewardship Series supports the St. Johns County Strategic Plan key priorities of Enhance Conservation and Community Well-Being.

Highlighted Locations

Some of the locations that will be highlighted throughout the series include:

  • Fort Matanzas National Monument
  • Castillo de San Marcos National Monument
  • Alpine Groves Park
  • Beluthahatchee Park
  • Fort Mose Historic State Park
  • Bartram Scenic Highway

How to Watch

The video series will be rolled out with a new episode released every month across multiple channels to ensure broad public access.

Videos will be published on the County’s social media platforms. Residents are encouraged to follow the Official St. Johns County Facebook Page and Instagram Account and subscribe to the St. Johns County YouTube Channel for new episodes and updates.

Episodes will be available on the SJC Stewardship web page and the County’s GovTV channel.
