St. Johns County will host a free educational workshop on agricultural land conservation easements from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at The Venue, 301 N. Main St. in Hastings. The workshop will provide agricultural landowners and farming families with information about voluntary state and federal conservation programs available to help protect their land and preserve their legacy.
In collaboration with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the workshop will explain available conservation easement options, the steps involved in the process, and how St. Johns County can support landowners interested in participating. Workshop partners include the UF/IFAS Food and Resource Economics Department, Florida Farm Bureau, 1000 Friends of Florida, and North Florida Land Trust.
The workshop is free and open to agricultural landowners, farming families, residents, and anyone interested in learning more about agricultural land conservation. RSVPs are requested.
