Parks & Rec Hosting Third Annual Family Color Run 5K at SJC Fairgrounds

On Saturday, November 14, the St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its third annual Family Color Run 5K at 9 a.m. at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, 5840 SR 207 E., Elkton.

The first Color Run, held in November 2024, was a great success, with dozens of participants showing up, and the second run doubled the first year’s attendance. The event is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, whether one is a seasoned runner or ready to enjoy a leisurely jog. The 5K will be mostly off-road and will feature colored powder for participants to fill the air and cover their outfits with; bring running clothes you don’t mind getting a little colorful.

Registration costs $25 per runner. Participation gets you a commemorative medal, professional timing services, and the color stations along the route.

“We were so excited to see the Color Run grow last year, and we’re looking forward to making this year even bigger and more fun,” said Tess Simpson, Community Program Manager for St. Johns County Parks and Recreation. “It’s a great event for all ages, so grab your family and friends, wear something you can get colorful in, and come have some fun with us!”
