Our Lady Star of the Sea Breaks Ground on New Parish Building

County Commissioner Krista Joseph represented the Board of County Commissioners

On Friday, October 2, 2026, Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Ponte Vedra Beach celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of its new parish building. Joined by District 4 County Commissioner Krista Joseph, parishioners, friends, clergy, and diocesan leaders, including Fr. Andy Blaszkowski, Pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea, and Bishop Erik Pohlmeier, Bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine, the parish marked the beginning of a project that will serve generations to come.

The new building is designed to support the spiritual, educational, and community life of the parish. Plans include a childcare center, daily chapel, faith formation classrooms, meeting rooms for parish ministries, dedicated space for youth and music programs, and new administrative offices.

This project is part of the parish’s Guided by the Star: Building a Future for Faith and Family capital campaign and reflects a commitment to serving a growing community while strengthening opportunities for worship, faith formation, and fellowship.

As construction begins, the parish looks forward to creating a welcoming space where children, families, and parishioners of all ages can grow in faith, build community, and serve others for years to come.
