On Saturday, November 14, the St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its third annual Family Color Run 5K at 9 a.m. at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, 5840 SR 207 E., Elkton. St. Johns County announced registration for this year’s Family Color Run 5K and shared opportunities for volunteers to get involved.

The Family Color Run 5K is one of St. Johns County’s most joyful community events. Designed for runners, walkers, families, and friends of all ages, this colorful experience encourages movement, laughter, and connection. The St. Johns County Parks Foundation proudly supports this Parks & Recreation event by helping elevate the experience and expand opportunities for the community.

The event is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, whether you are a seasoned runner or a casual walker. The 5K will be on a mostly off-road course where participants will get showered with colored powder along the way. Bring running clothes that you won’t mind turning rainbow-colored until they get washed.

Behind the Scenes is produced every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. on WSOS 103.9, with a bi-weekly recap of the previous day’s Board of County Commissioners’ meeting and a featured guest interview for a live radio broadcast. The program is an effort to support the Community Trust priority of the County’s Strategic Plan. The goal is to enhance community trust through proactive communication to foster engagement and build an environment of public participation.
