The goal of the County’s ag outreach is to provide more education and public outreach about our local farming communities, which range from Hastings to Elkton to St. Augustine. Of all 67 counties within the State of Florida, St. Johns ranks in the top 10 for agricultural acreage and market value of the crops, according to our latest USDA Census of Agriculture. You can sign up to receive the St. Johns County Agriculture Newsletter and other e-publications at the Stay Informed web page.
Behind the Scenes is produced every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. on WSOS 103.9, with a bi-weekly recap of the previous day’s Board of County Commissioners’ meeting and a featured guest interview for a live radio broadcast. The program is an effort to support the Community Trust priority of the County’s Strategic Plan. The goal is to enhance community trust through proactive communication, fostering engagement, and building an environment of public participation.
The program is sponsored by the County’s Solid Waste Division, which provides sustainable solid waste management services, including weekly curbside collections for over 117,000 residential units, ensuring high-quality and timely service to the community.
