FY 2025 Tentative Budget Hearing

On September 3, 2024, at 5:01 pm in the County Auditorium (500 San Sebastian View), the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will be presented with the Fiscal Year 2025 Tentative Budget, the first of two required public hearings to adopt the Fiscal Year 2025 Millage Rates and Budget.  The meeting will follow the procedure as prescribed by Florida Statute 200.065. The Fiscal Year 2025 Recommended Budget has been updated to reflect numerous capital projects and grant activities that cross fiscal years; known as carryforwards, the Fiscal Year 2025 Tentative Budget reflects $535,147,474 in capital carryforwards, bringing the Fiscal Year 2025 Tentative Budget to $1,750,868,966.

The Board of County Commissioners will consider three motions (per Florida Statute 200.065):

1. A motion to approve proposed millage rates necessary to fund the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
2. A motion to approve the Fiscal Year 2025 Tentative Budget.
3. A motion to establish September 17, 2024 at 5:01 PM, in the County Auditorium, as the Second Public Hearing for the adoption of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Fiscal Year 2025 Budget.

NOTICE OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Notice is hereby given that an emergency meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Johns County Auditorium located at 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine, Florida.  The purpose of the emergency meeting will be to:

1. Consider a proposed resolution requesting that the Supervisor of Elections place the St. Johns County School Board’s referendum question on a November 5, 2024 referendum election ballot to authorize the St. Johns County School Board to levy an additional millage for school operational purposes of ad valorem taxes
2. Consider a proposed resolution requesting that the Supervisor of Elections place the St. Johns County School Board’s referendum question on the November 5, 2024 referendum election ballot to authorize the St. Johns County School Board to levy an additional discretionary sales surtax at a rate that may not exceed 0.5 percent.

If a person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at the emergency public meeting, he/she will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

Recreation Advisory Board TDT Category III Sports Tourism Grant Meeting

The Recreation Advisory Board is responsible for making recommendations for allocation of the TDT Category III Sports Tourism Grant money. The RAB has opted to create a sports marketing grant panel to score and review the grant applications. The panel will meet from 1-4 pm on August 6^th in the Muscovy Conference Room, Health and Human Services, 200 San Sebastian View, to score and review new information that has been added for consideration for sports marketing grant requested events that have already been submitted through the online portal.
