Commissioner Ann Taylor represented the Board of County Commissioners at two City of St. Augustine events.
On October 29, 2025, County Commissioner Ann Taylor represented the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners at two events hosted by the City of St. Augustine.
There are big changes are coming for this year’s Nights of Lights — and downtown businesses need need to be informed. Commissioner taylor assisted in the
the St. Augustine Business Coalition public meeting with Assistant City Manager Reuben Franklin and Susan Phillips from the Visitors and Convention Bureau.
There were updates to road closures, dedicated employee parking lots, restrooms, enhanced law enforcement presence/traffic control, and other improvements designed to make this season smoother for businesses, employees, residents, and visitors alike. Susan Phillips unveiled the brand-new Nights of Lights app, website, and QR code — a one-stop shop for everything the public needs to know this holiday season.
After that public meeting, Commissioner Taylor supported the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Dining with Dignity pavilion. She joined City Commissioner Cynthia Garris and other leaders in the celebration. Community members have been serving the community’s vulnerable neighbors for decades. This was a very exciting event to share that the City of St. Augustine will be providing an even better and more dignified location to continue this meal program, while also providing access to other vital amenities (i.e. free laundry services, ADA-accessible bathrooms and showers, and outlets for charging devices). The event celebrated Phase One. Phase Two will transform the property into a mini campus and allow other agencies to get involved and offer even more wrap-around supportive services.
