The visit included a tour of Hastings to discuss various community issues.

U.S. Congressman Randy Fine recently visited St. Johns County to tour the Hastings community. Hosted by County Commissioner Sarah Arnold, District 2, the activities included a coffee shop chat with Hastings leaders and tours of downtown Hastings and the drainage and flooding issues in the area. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to recap the tour.

“I want to thank Commissioner Arnold for taking the time, along with County staff, to meet with residents, business owners, and farmers in Hastings,” said Congressman Randy Fine. “We toured the area to identify how we can best assist our community with flood mitigation, economic development, and addressing key needs in the upcoming Farm Bill. I look forward to bringing St. John’s priorities front and center in DC. Can’t wait to be back!”

The visit was supported by participation from the St. Johns County Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, St. Johns County Emergency Management, St. Johns River Water Management District, Hastings Main Street, and local farmers.

“It was a tremendously productive day,” said Commissioner Arnold. “He heard from residents, from local farm families, to discuss the drainage issues. I think he saw it firsthand today. And I think we will hopefully get some help from DC.”
