Passive Enrollment

Passive Enrollment

This year is a passive enrollment, which means you do not have to take any action if you want to keep your existing 2024 benefit coverage (except for FSA/DCA accounts). 

2025 Benefits Enrollment is only required if:

  • You want to elect or re-elect a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Dependent Care Accounts (DCA) in 2025 you must complete your enrollment! (IRS requires enrollment every year)
  • Make a change to health coverage (i.e. switch medical plans)
  • Add/remove dependents (i.e. Spouse and/or child(ren)
  • Update your beneficiaries
  • Add/remove voluntary or supplemental coverage (i.e. Life Insurance, Short-term Disability, Critical Illness, Accident, Cancer Guardian and/or Legal Shield)

New Hires and Life Events – PlanSource

PlanSource is the employee self-service, online portal for employees of St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners to enroll in all benefits plans. Once logged in, you will be able to see what plans you are currently enrolled in and compare costs and benefit details.

Before you begin the enrollment process, please make sure you have reviewed the benefit plans in the St Johns County Benefits Guide and have all dependent information including date of birth and social security number.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All new hires eligible for benefits have 30 days from date of hire to complete the enrollment process. This is the employee’s responsibility; Human Resources will not contact you regarding your enrollment. Additionally, you must provide documentation proving dependent eligibility. See the Benefits Guide below for more information.
