St. Johns County Public Library System invites Local Businesses to join Library Card Sign-Up Month Discount Program

The St. Johns County Public Library System (SJCPLS) has announced the 2^nd annual Community Connections discount program and invites local businesses and organizations to participate in Library Card Sign-Up Month this September. This initiative encourages residents to sign up for a library card and support local businesses. In turn, businesses offer discounts to library cardholders throughout the month. Businesses and organizations interested in participating can confirm their spot by completing the online registration form available at sjcpls.org. By registering before August 9, 2025, businesses will be included in SJCPLS printed and digital outreach materials.

“This program celebrates the power of a library card while highlighting the vibrant local businesses that make our county special,” said Debra Rhodes Gibson, Library Director. “It’s a win-win partnership that promotes literacy, local commerce, and community.”

First launched in 2024, initially 34 local organizations joined the effort to support SJCPLS and strengthen community ties. Community Connections provides businesses a unique opportunity to promote their brand and services to over 100,000 library cardholders. Participating businesses will be featured in promotional materials, both online and in print, and will be recognized as valued community partners.
