14,000 Free Sandbags to be Distributed Ahead of Hurricane Season

The giveaway will take place June 23-25 at multiple locations throughout the County

In an effort to help residents prepare for hurricane season before storms approach, St. Johns County will distribute approximately 14,000 free, pre-filled sandbags at multiple locations throughout the County:

Tuesday, June 23 – 9 A.M. – 12 P.M.

Wednesday, June 24 – 9 A.M. – 12 P.M.

Thursday, June 25 – 9A.M. – 12 P.M.

There is a limit of 12 sandbags per vehicle, and each bag weighs approximately 30 pounds. Please be considerate of your neighbors and adhere to the 12-sandbag limit so that this resource can benefit as many residents as possible. County residents must provide proof of residency, such as a valid ID or a recent mailing letter. County staff will be on site to assist residents with loading sandbags into their vehicles.

St. Johns County encourages residents to prepare early for hurricane season by reviewing emergency plans, assembling disaster supply kits, and staying informed throughout the season.
