At the September 15, 2026, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Ann Taylor highlighted September as National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month.
She invited Kim Harrison, North Florida Advocacy Coordinator for the United Spinal Association, to the front of the auditorium to tell her story.
This annual observance aims to raise public awareness about the impact of spinal cord injuries, support ongoing research for treatments, and educate about prevention and accessibility.
