SJC Parks and Recreation Honoring Local Artists and Waterways at River Reflection

Come see unforgettable art as the sun goes down over the St. Johns River

The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the Matanzas Riverkeeper and St. Johns Riverkeeper, will honor local artists and waterways at the second River Reflection at Alpine Groves Park (2060 SR-13, St. Johns) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026.

The evening art showcase will center around the work of local artists of all ages and mediums and is inspired by the connection between our local waterways and our community. The beautiful sunset view available at Alpine Groves Park, one of the County’s most popular recreation areas, makes it the perfect venue for the outdoor gallery.

“The River Reflection is a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together to celebrate both the creativity of our local artists and the natural beauty of the waterways that make St. Johns County so special,” said Kelly Ussia, Outdoor Recreation Supervisor. “We’re excited to provide a space where art, nature, and community can connect in such a beautiful setting.”

The first in-person River Reflection held in March 2025 saw excellent attendance, and this year’s event will bring a host of returning and brand-new artistic contributors for attendees to appreciate.

“Last year’s event drew a fantastic crowd and definitely created a memorable evening along the river,” said Nathan Otter, Natural Resources Superintendent. “We’re proud to continue working with the Riverkeepers to celebrate the rivers that define our region.”

Overflow parking will be available at the park, and a shuttle will take attendees from the front parking lot to the event space.
