Family Color Run 5K at St. Johns County Fairgrounds

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, the St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its second annual Family Color Run 5K at 9 a.m. at the St Johns County Fairgrounds (5840 SR 207 E., Elkton).

The first Color Run, held in November 2024, was a great success, with dozens of participants showing up. The event is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, whether one is a seasoned runner or ready to enjoy a leisurely jog. The 5K will be mostly off-road and will feature colored powder for participants to fill the air and cover their outfits with; bring running clothes you don’t mind getting a little colorful.

Registration via the Florida Race Day website costs $25 per runner. Participation gets you a commemorative medal, professional timing services, and the color stations along the route.

“We can’t wait to see this fun new County tradition continue to grow in its second year,” said Tess Simpson, Community Program Manager for Parks and Recreation. “Think of it as a unique pre-Thanksgiving family workout.”

“November is the perfect time for this year’s Color Run 5K,” said Jamie Baccari, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation. “Families can run or walk together in nice, cool weather as an early start to the holiday season. We can’t wait to meet you all out there at the Fairgrounds!”

The Family Color Run 5K is made possible thanks to proud community sponsorships, including lead sponsor the YMCA and silver sponsor Urban Air Adventure Park. After the Color Run, the St. Augustine Disc Golf Club will hold an informal disc golf clinic at the Fairgrounds.
