WHEREAS, while finding ‘forever homes’ for children in out-of-home care is an objective St. Johns County works toward throughout the year, it is during Adoption Month that we hope to bring greater awareness of the need for adoptive families to make the dream come true for all local children awaiting homes; and

WHEREAS, St. Johns County has a longstanding tradition of local citizens opening their hearts and homes to children in need of a temporary or permanent home and we recognize the valuable contributions of adoptive parents who have found reward in their commitment to improve the quality of life for children; and

WHEREAS, the youth of St. Johns County are precious to each of us and represent our greatest hope for the future, and all children deserve a nurturing, safe and stable environment in which they can grow up to enjoy the benefits of a healthy and productive life; and

WHEREAS, as we gather together as a family, community, state and nation to celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings, it is our hope that all children awaiting adoption will soon find a permanent and loving family and, therefore, it is fitting to promote the goals of this observance during this special season, which gives us so many reasons to be grateful; and

      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida, that November 2025 be designated as

Adoption Month 

Encouraging all citizens to join in the effort to raise awareness about the importance of adoption.
