St. Johns County Recognizes National 4-H Week

Commissioner Ann Taylor presented a special proclamation.
During the October 7, 2025, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Ann Taylor presented a Proclamation for National 4-H Week to Courtney Toelle, Kellie Anderson, Tim Wilson, and other 4-H representatives.
The Proclamation read:
WHEREAS, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is proud to honor the 4-H Youth Development Program of the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences/Extension Service for more than 100 years of providing evidenced-based education to youth throughout the Sunshine State; and
WHEREAS, the Florida 4-H Youth Development program works with St. Johns County Commissioners, other state and federal government organizations, and the private sector to raise awareness and support positive youth development programs; and
WHEREAS, this program, which seeks to provide learning experiences for the whole child, including head, heart, hands, and health, assists youth to acquire knowledge, develop life skills, and form attitudes that enable them to become self-directed, productive, and contributing members of our society; and
WHEREAS, the St. Johns County 4-H Program is committed to providing learning opportunities that are designed around the four essential elements necessary for positive youth development by providing youth with supervised independence, a sense of belonging with a positive group, a spirit of generosity toward others, and a wide variety of opportunities to master life challenges; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida, that October 5-11, 2025 be recognized as
National 4-H Week
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida this 7th day of October, 2025.
