St. Johns County Coastal Management to Present on Shore Protection Project Easements at Sept. 4 City of St. Augustine Beach Commission Meeting

Easements will allow sand placement vital for coastal protection
St. Johns County Coastal Management staff will present to the City of St. Augustine Beach Commission on Sept. 4 regarding perpetual easements necessary for the continuation of the St. Johns County Shore Protection Project.
The Shore Protection Project is a long-standing partnership between St. Johns County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The project provides vital beach nourishment to protect coastal infrastructure, preserve recreational beach areas, and strengthen the community’s resilience against storm impacts.
County staff will request that the City execute easements for the properties it owns within the project area. Easements are required to allow sand placement and ensure the project can move forward as planned.
The presentation will take place during the St. Augustine Beach Commission meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 2200 A1A South, St. Augustine Beach. This meeting will also be available to view live online, on the City of St. Augustine Beach YouTube channel.
