Restore St. Johns Disaster Recovery Program Intake Center Registration Deadline The Restore St. Johns Disaster Recovery Program Intake Center, a County-based housing recovery program, closed to new registrations at 4 p.m. on May 29. St. Johns County residents have up until that time to register for federal funding for low to moderate income housing assistance related to Hurricane Matthew recovery. Assistance is available in grants for homeowners who occupy the primary residence in need of home or mobile home rehabilitation and repair, home elevation for homes located within the flood plain, and buyouts for homes located in the flood plain. What’s Restore St. Johns?

Restore St. Johns is a County-based housing recovery program to help eligible St. Johns County homeowners who experienced home damage during Hurricane Matthew and continue to have unmet recovery needs.

How’s Restore St. Johns Funded?

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery funds to Florida Department of Economic Opportunity for activities authorized under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and described in the State of Florida Action Plan for Disaster Recovery. St. Johns County has entered into an agreement with Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (agreement # H2338) to administer disaster recovery funds. Of these funds, Restore St. Johns has millions available for eligible St. Johns County homeowners still recovering from Hurricane Matthew.

Am I Eligible for Assistance through Restore St. Johns?

Restore St. Johns may be able to provide you with assistance if:

  • You own a single-family home (1-4 units) in St. Johns County damaged by Hurricane Matthew.
  • You occupied this home during Hurricane Matthew.
  • You still own and occupy this home and have unmet hurricane recovery needs.

Assisting low-to-moderate income homeowners is a program priority.
