Ways You Can Help

Many pets find their way to the Pet Center and our goal is to make them as comfortable and stress free as possible while we help them find their forever homes. To reach this goal, we ask that you help us help them.

Volunteer

The Pet Center has plenty of need for caregivers to walk, bathe, and help socialize animals who are looking for loving homes. For more information, contact us at (904) 209-6190 or you can fill out a volunteer application and we’ll be in touch.

Teen Volunteers: If you are or have a teen that wants to volunteer, please fill out the Teen Volunteer Application.

Friends of the Pet Center

A non-profit organization that supports the St Johns County Pet Adoption & Holding Center and it’s animals in our community. Volunteers help pets find homes, help with walking and exercise programs, and give a little love when it is needed the most. To find out how you can help too visit us on Facebook.

Food Drive

The Pet Center needs wet canned cat, kitten, puppy, and dog food, as well as dry cat / kitten chow, and Purina dog Chow. We also need towels. Call (904) 209-6190 for more info and thank you for your support!

Stretch & Scratch

As lovers of all things furry, it’s hard to deal with the fact that so many cats end up in shelters. While the cats are in cages, they have no cat scratch furniture to use which leads to a very unhappy kitty. The Stretch & Scratch can be easily attached to the door of a shelter cage and adjusted for maximum stretching! Donate a Stretch and Scratch and help make shelter life easier on kitties while they wait for their forever homes!

Kuranda Beds

Day in and day out shelter dogs live with hard concrete floors, while cats seek a soft place to rest in their cages. You can make a world of difference in a homeless pet’s life by donating a comfortable, sturdy, easy to clean, Kuranda bed to the Pet Center. There is a special donation discount and beds ship directly to us.

Florida Animal Friends License Plate

When you purchase a Florida Animal Friend license plate, $25 of every plate sold goes directly to fund organizations across the state who offer free or low-cost spay and neuter services. By purchasing the plate or donating to show your support, we become one step closer to ensuring that all animals can have a safe, happy and loving home.
