St. Johns County Begins $2.35 Million Regalo Road Improvements

Final Roadway Segment to Enhance Traffic Flow Between U.S. 1 and Palencia Village Drive

Construction is underway on the remaining unpaved portion of Regalo Road, improving connectivity between U.S. 1 and Palencia Village Drive and supporting efficient traffic flow for residents and commuters. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to highlight this important project.

The $2,351,371 project will deliver drainage and paving improvements necessary to build the unpaved segment of Regalo Road (also known as Shannon Road) to current St. Johns County local-road standards. Once finished, the new roadway will help streamline travel and reduce delays in this area.

“As we complete this final segment of Regalo Road, we’re proud to provide the community with a smoother, more reliable route,” said Tommy Mashburn, Project Manager for St. Johns County Public Works. “This upgrade reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure that meets the needs of our residents.”

The work includes roadway paving, stormwater drainage enhancements, and associated infrastructure improvements. Construction began in July 2025 and is anticipated to be complete by March 2026.

This project advances the infrastructure goals outlined in the County’s Strategic Plan by investing in efficient, well-maintained roadways that support community mobility. It is part of the County’s ongoing efforts under the plan’s Infrastructure priority to ensure timely, quality public works projects across St. Johns County.
