St. Johns County Earns 2025 Florida Public Relations Association’s Pinnacle Award

The award recognizes governments for strategic work in communications that impact their community.
The St. Johns County Office of Public Affairs was presented with a 2025 Silver Pinnacle Award for “Government Team of the Year” by the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) during the PR & Comms Summit held from Aug. 3 to 6 in Orlando, Florida.
FPRA’s Pinnacle Awards recognize government agencies for outstanding and ongoing strategic work in public relations and communications that profoundly and meaningfully impact the greater good of their community.
The Government Team of the Year Award is presented to a local or state governmental agency, department, or office doing exceptional work using public relations, marketing, and communications to accomplish its purpose or improve its constituents’ lives.
“I am particularly proud of this award, as it signifies the cumulative efforts of the Public Affairs team,” Public Affairs Director Wayne Larson said. “It represents our accomplishments as a department and the relationships we have built with our County peers, our community partners, and the media.”
This is the fourth recognition the Office of Public Affairs has earned in the past year. In May, it earned the Certificate of Excellence in Government Communication from the Florida Municipal Communicators Association, becoming just one of 16 Florida governments to receive the award. In September 2024, it received two awards at the recent City-County Communications & Marketing Association for the anti-litter initiative “Get Hooked.”
“We are helping the County build community trust and transparency with our integrated marketing communications approach to storytelling and public affairs,” Larson said.
