St. Johns County Traffic Signal at State Road 16 and South Francis Road Fully Operational

The $700,000 Improvements Include New Signal, Roadway Enhancements

A new traffic signal and roadway improvements at State Road 16 and South Francis Road are now fully operational to enhance traffic flow. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to highlight this important project.

The project included milling, paving, roadway striping, illuminated roadway signage, closed-circuit television monitoring, and installation of the traffic signal.

“The addition of a traffic signal at this intersection will improve traffic flow to this area,” said Valerie Pacetti, Project Manager for St. Johns County Public Works.

The $700,000 project, funded jointly by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and St. Johns County Public Works, began in July 2025. The agreement included equal funding obligations and FDOT’s support for the signal installation.

This project is part of an ongoing effort by the Public Works Department to improve traffic flow on St. Johns County roadways.
