St. Johns County Golf Club Staff Wins Awards for Contributions to Golfing in North Florida
Wes Tucker and Bea Mauricio both received 2026 North Florida PGA Awards
St. Johns Golf Club Director Wes Tucker and Assistant Golf Professional Bea Mauricio have both been honored by the North Florida PGA (NFPGA) with 2026 Section and Chapter awards for their contributions to the sport. The Office of Public Affairs has produced a video to celebrate their accomplishments.
Tucker received both the Section and Northern Chapter awards for Golf Professional of the Year, which the NFPGA calls “among the highest honors bestowed on a PGA Golf Professional.” It represents someone whose contributions to the game exemplify the highest standards of the PGA Golf Professional, embracing the wide range of services executed on the job and in the community. He also won the Northern Chapter’s award for Merchandiser of the Year – Public Category.
Mauricio received the Northern Chapter award for PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year, which honors someone who best exemplifies the model PGA Assistant Golf Professional through their contributions to the game.
“Being named Northern Chapter PGA Public Merchandiser of the Year is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire golf shop staff,” Tucker said. “The growth achieved over the past three years would not have been possible without their commitment and teamwork.”
Tucker also shared how deeply grateful and humbled he felt to be recognized by his peers as both the Northern Chapter PGA and North Florida Section PGA Professional of the Year. He emphasized his appreciation for the support of his colleagues and staff at St. Johns Golf Club.
“Improving the club, investing in its people, and mentoring the next generation of professionals remains central to my mission of serving the industry and developing future servant leaders,” Tucker said.
Mauricio shared her sincere appreciation for the opportunities that followed her previous recognition, which allowed her to expand her network and continue growing both professionally and personally. She said she’s excited to pay forward the support and mentorship that have helped her advance into her current role as Co-Head Professional at St. Johns Golf Club.
“I’m honored to now give back by mentoring others as they begin their own PGA journeys and supporting the next generation of golf professionals,” Mauricio said.
2026 marks the second year in a row that Tucker and Mauricio have been recognized by the NFPGA for their work.
