Year-long exhibition showcases local creativity and community spirit
“Art at the Main” opens Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Main Branch Library, located at 1960 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd., St. Augustine, presented by the St. Johns Cultural Council, St. Johns County Public Library System (SJCPLS), and Friends of the Main Library.
The exhibition features Sing Out Loud community murals, designed by local artists for the music festival to celebrate local creativity and connection. Selected mural artists from 2025 include Taza Jenkins, Erika Forest-Martin, Sophia Finney, and Margaret Proveaux.
Recognizing the value of extending these unique works, the St. Johns Cultural Council partnered with the Main Branch Library to give the murals a second home. The exhibition is further emphasized by a public call for original local art, expanding the showcase with works by additional area artists displayed alongside the murals.
“The Cultural Council has provided us with an amazing opportunity to have beautiful art in public spaces for all to enjoy and work in,” said Nicole Jebbia, SJCPLS Main Branch Library Manager. “Bringing in art to the Main Branch Library really helps cement our place in the community as a destination for learning and culture.”
“Giving the murals back to the community just made sense,” said Chelsea Cornelius, Administrative and Public Art Coordinator for the St. Johns Cultural Council. “Creating opportunities for local artists and enriching the community through art is central to who we are.”
“Art at the Main” is free and open to the public during regular library hours at the Main Branch Library. The exhibition runs through January 2027.
The exhibition is sponsored by Friends of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, Friends of the Main Library, Live Wildly, Sing Out Loud, and the St. Johns Cultural Council.
