- Multiple Ways to Watch and Participate — Workshops will be held at the St. Johns County Administration Building in St. Augustine, with live streaming on Facebook, YouTube, and GovTV, plus video-on-demand access within three days.
- Community Input Helps Shape Final Budget Decisions — Public engagement and feedback following the workshops will directly inform the County Administrator’s July budget recommendation and the Board of County Commissioners’ final FY27 decisions.
St. Johns County will host a series of Public Budget Workshops from May 11 through May 20 as part of the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) budget development process, providing residents with an opportunity to observe presentations, learn about County services, and engage in local government decision-making. Each session will feature detailed presentations from County departments, offices, and community partners outlining their priorities, services, and funding requests for the upcoming fiscal year.
All budget workshops will occur at the St. Johns County Administration Building, located at 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine. Each workshop will be broadcast live on the County’s Facebook, YouTube, and GovTV platforms. A recording of each workshop is scheduled to be available via video-on-demand on the GovTV webpage, under the Other Videos Archive, within three days of each workshop’s completion. GovTV is also available on Comcast Cable: channel 3 in southern St. Johns County, channel 29 or 261 in northern St. Johns County, and channel 26 in Jacksonville. It is also available to U-verse subscribers on channel 99.
Limited in-person public seating will be available in the upstairs San Sebastian Conference Room. Additional public seating to watch it live on GovTV will be available in the County Auditorium in the Administration Building.
“This is one of the most important conversations we have as a team as we work to prioritize our community’s needs,” said Joy Andrews, St. Johns County Administrator. “I encourage residents to take a front-row seat—either from the comfort of their home or, if space allows, in our conference room—to listen to our deliberations. Feedback from the community following these sessions will help shape my July budget recommendation to the Board.”
The Public Budget Workshops support all six priorities outlined in the County’s Strategic Plan by:
- Community Trust — Expanding transparency by providing residents direct access to departmental presentations, budget discussions, and decision-making processes in an open public forum.
- Community Well-Being — Highlighting investments in public safety, health, libraries, parks, and human services that enhance quality of life for residents across St. Johns County.
- Economic Prosperity — Showcasing how funding priorities support local businesses, workforce development, tourism, and long-term economic vitality.
- Enhanced Conservation — Demonstrating the County’s commitment to protecting natural, coastal, and cultural resources through responsible budgeting and long-term planning.
- Infrastructure — Providing insight into planned investments in roads, utilities, public facilities, and resilient infrastructure to support current and future community needs.
- Organizational Excellence — Reinforcing a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement through data-driven budgeting and interdepartmental collaboration.
