The mission of the VCB also known as St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches, is to brand and market the destination globally as a world-class leisure, convention and business destination; to communicate the area’s assets and inherent benefits to consumers, meeting planners, travel trade, media, local community and constituents; and to facilitate the opportunity for partners to promote their individual businesses within that framework. The St. Johns County Community and Destination Development Department works with the Tourist Development Council (TDC), the Community Redevelopment Areas and Agencies, the local Main Street America organizations and other community partners, including the St. Augustine | Ponte Vedra Visitors and Convention Bureau, St. Johns Cultural Council, and St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce to improve the community experience for both residents and visitors in St. Johns County.
Behind the SJCenes is produced every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. on WSOS 103.9, with a bi-weekly recap of the previous day’s Board of County Commissioner’s meeting and a featured guest interview for a live radio broadcast. The program is an effort to the support the Community Trust priority of the County’s Strategic Plan. The goal is to enhance community trust through proactive communication to foster engagement and build an environment of public participation
