The Economic Development Department has launched several new initiatives in 2026, including:
- Launching its new economic development website, InvestSJC.com, a modern, business-focused digital platform designed to attract investment, support local companies, and showcase the County’s position as one of Florida’s fastest-growing economies.
- Starting the inaugural St. Johns County Young Professionals Program, marking a strong start for an initiative designed to connect, develop, and retain the next generation of local talent.
- Inviting local small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to connect with organizations that can help them start, grow, and strengthen their businesses during a free Small Business Resource Event from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, September 23, at The Waterworks, 184 San Marco Ave., St. Augustine.
All these efforts support the County’s Strategic Plan priority of Economic Prosperity (PDF). The County continues to get strong support for its events and programs from its partnership with the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce.
Behind the SJCenes is produced every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. on WSOS 103.9, with a bi-weekly recap of the previous day’s Board of County Commissioner’s meeting and a featured guest interview for a live radio broadcast. The program is an effort to support the Community Trust priority of the County’s Strategic Plan. The goal is to enhance community trust through proactive communication to foster engagement and build an environment of public participation.
