Behind The SJCenes Podcast Highlights Solid Waste Division

St. Johns County is in its annual “March Madness” mode picking up yard waste from spring landscaping efforts.

On March 25, 2026, Ben Bright, Assistant Director of Public Works and Ashley Mickler, Solid Waste Business Manager, shared updates and resources for the public on solid waste services and yard waste guidelines during the Behind the SJCenes podcast live on WSOS 103.9 FM.  Behind the SJCenes episodes and other shows are available at the SJC Podcasts web page.

The Solid Waste Division is dedicated to delivering sustainable services to meet the community’s ever-changing solid waste management needs. With weekly curbside collections for over 120,000 residential units, the staff takes pride in serving the community and providing the high-quality and timely services that every resident deserves. Behind the SJCenes is produced every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. on WSOS 103.9, with a bi-weekly recap of the previous day’s Board of County Commissioner’s meeting and a featured guest interview for a live radio broadcast. The program is an effort to the support the Community Trust priority of the County’s Strategic Plan. The goal is to enhance community trust through proactive communication to foster engagement and build an environment of public participation.
