Board of County Commissioners Meeting

The St. Johns County Board of County Commission Meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays each month commencing at 9:00 a.m. in the St. Johns County Auditorium located at 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine, FL. The Board reserves the right to cancel and or change the meeting schedule as needed. Most Public Hearings for the County Commission will be advertised for 9:00 a.m. It will be left to the discretion of the BCC Chair as to the most appropriate time to break for recess. *Per Board Rule 4.102: The Board shall not hold a regular meeting on the first Tuesday of January or the first Tuesday of July. NOTICE OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Notice is hereby given that an emergency meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Johns County Auditorium located at 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine, Florida.  The purpose of the emergency meeting will be to:

1. Consider a proposed resolution requesting that the Supervisor of Elections place the St. Johns County School Board’s referendum question on a November 5, 2024 referendum election ballot to authorize the St. Johns County School Board to levy an additional millage for school operational purposes of ad valorem taxes
2. Consider a proposed resolution requesting that the Supervisor of Elections place the St. Johns County School Board’s referendum question on the November 5, 2024 referendum election ballot to authorize the St. Johns County School Board to levy an additional discretionary sales surtax at a rate that may not exceed 0.5 percent.

If a person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at the emergency public meeting, he/she will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

Industrial Development Authority

BCC Executive Conference Room located in the County Administration Building

The primary purpose of the IDA is to issue tax-exempt bond financing for manufacturing facilities within the county. The IDA can also issue bonds for certain exempt facilities such as water & sewer projects, solid waste and hazardous waste facilities as well as bonds for tax-exempt 501 (C)(3) non-profit organizations.
