St. Johns County recently brought aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners together with local organizations that provide resources, guidance, and support to help businesses start, operate, and grow. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to showcase the event.
More than 50 members of the local business community attended the Small Business Resource Event on Sept. 23, connecting with organizations that support entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout St. Johns County. Event partners included the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, Regions Bank, the Small Business Development Center, and other organizations that provide business services and resources.
The event provided an opportunity for entrepreneurs and business owners to learn about available resources, connect with local organizations, and build relationships with other members of the business community. Resources can help business owners navigate different stages of the entrepreneurial journey, including developing a business plan, accessing capital, expanding a business, and finding mentors and other professional support.
“We want to keep people in the game and support them throughout every stage of their business journey,” said Monica Dominguez, Senior Project Manager for St. Johns County Economic Development. “Whether they’re looking to expand, access capital, find partners, or develop a strong business plan, this is where they can find the resources and connections they need.”
Starting and operating a small business can present significant challenges, particularly for entrepreneurs who may not know where to turn for assistance. Connecting business owners with organizations and individuals who can provide guidance, expertise, and mentorship strengthens the support network available throughout the local business community.
Small businesses make up the majority of businesses in St. Johns County, so resources that support entrepreneurship and business success are an important part of the local economy. The County continues to work with community partners to connect business owners with opportunities, information, and services that can help them navigate challenges and pursue their goals.
The event supports the St. Johns County Strategic Plan priority of Economic Prosperity by connecting entrepreneurs and business owners with resources, partnerships, and opportunities that contribute to a strong local economy.
St. Johns County’s new Economic Development website, InvestSJC.com, provides businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors with information about economic opportunities, available resources, and programs in the County.
The County will continue creating opportunities for members of the business community to connect and build relationships. The SJC Young Professionals Program Networking Event on Oct. 6 will provide another opportunity for local professionals to network and connect with peers.
