On September 8, 2026, the County’s monthly radio show on WFOY 102.1 FM, The SJC Report, featured Monica Dominguez, Senior Project Manager, for the Economic Development Department, discussing the various programs and initiatives to spur economic vitality in the community.
Dominguez shared the Economic Development Department’s efforts to launch several new initiatives in 2026.
- Inviting local small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to connect with organizations that can help them start, grow, and strengthen their businesses during a free Small Business Resource Event on September 23, from 10 a.m. to noon, at The Waterworks, 184 San Marco Ave., St. Augustine.
- Launching its new economic development website, InvestSJC.com, a modern, business-focused digital platform designed to attract investment, support local companies, and showcase the County’s position as one of Florida’s fastest-growing economies.
- Starting the inaugural St. Johns County Young Professionals Program, marking a strong start for an initiative designed to connect, develop, and retain the next generation of local talent.
- The County was featured at the 2026 JAXUSA State of the Region, highlighting continued growth, targeted industry recruitment, and infrastructure investment.
- The 2026 Healthcare Career Expo, connected approximately 160 job seekers with 40 healthcare employers, strengthening the County’s talent pipeline.
All these efforts support the County’s Strategic Plan priority of Economic Prosperity (PDF). The County continues to get strong support for its events and programs from its partnership with the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce.
