The St. Johns County Public Library System (SJCPLS) invites current library users to share their opinions in a survey. The survey is open until Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Feedback will help shape the library system’s services and programs based on the needs and opinions of current library users. A physical copy of the survey is available upon request at any of the public library system’s locations.

“Library services are constantly evolving and modernizing based on the community,” said Heather Sostrom, SJCPLS Public Service Manager. “By listening to feedback from our library users, we can better understand barriers, identify new opportunities, and ensure our services meet the needs of the entire community.”

Building on a rich library history dating back to 1874, the St. Johns County Public Library System formed in 1977 with three branches in St. Augustine, Hastings, and Mill Creek. St. Johns County’s growth has mirrored the library system’s own over the years. Today, the library system offers six branches and two bookmobiles, with new branches in development.

“The Library System has evolved to meet the needs of its local community for nearly 50 years,” said Debra Rhodes Gibson, SJCPLS Director. “This is an essential part of who we are, no matter where in the county you live. Our number one priority is not just the patrons, but their families and the future generations that will visit any of our locations.”

The survey is open to all community members who utilize St. Johns County Public Library System. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and asks questions related to community needs, awareness of library services, perceived barriers to library use, and priorities for future offerings. Participants will have the opportunity to enter a random drawing for a giveaway basket provided by The Kookaburra Coffee
