October 18, 2025 – St. Johns County Hosting Kickoff Celebration for New Turf Field at Solomon Calhoun Community Center

St. Johns County will celebrate the completion of a new artificial turf field at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center with a kickoff event before the homecoming football game between the North Florida Wildcats and the Baker County Bobcats.

September 22, 2025 – St. Johns County Parks Foundation Earns National Award

The St. Johns County Parks Foundation, our official philanthropic partner, received national recognition with the prestigious National Association of Park Foundations Lehman Award for Park Foundation Excellence in the “Emerging Star Foundation” category.

September 12, 2025 – SJC Beach Services and St. Augustine Lighthouse Team Up to Preserve Fragments of Historic Shipwreck Found on Matanzas Beach

St. Johns County Beach Services teamed up with the St. Augustine Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program (LAMP) on Aug. 26 to preserve two fragments of a historic shipwreck spotted by County staff on Matanzas Beach.

Hastings Pink Walk Oct. 11 | 8 – 10 a.m.

Walkers will gather at the W.E. Harris Center in Hastings before traveling a mile to Al Wilke Park in honor of those who have been lost to breast cancer and those still living with it.

Solomon Calhoun Kickoff Oct. 18 | 8 a.m.

St. Johns County will celebrate the completion of a new artificial turf field at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center with a kickoff event before the homecoming football game between the North Florida Wildcats and the Baker County Bobcats. The event will feature a performance by the St. Augustine High School Marching Band, a ribbon-cutting, and a ceremonial coin toss.

Hastings Trunk-or-Treat Oct. 25 | 5 – 9 p.m.

Bring your family to Al Wilke Park for a safe, spooky time with your friends and neighbors, sponsored by St. Johns County Parks and Recreation, the Hastings Branch Library, and Team Up Hastings. After the trunk-or-treating, stick around for our Halloween Movie in the Park at 7!

Family Color Run 5K Nov. 15 | 9 a.m.

Gather your friends and family for a morning filled with laughter, health, and vibrant colors at the St Johns County Fairgrounds! Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a casual jogger, this event is perfect for all ages and fitness levels.
