The drawing for camp participants will be totally random
The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department will open its online lottery for spots in its 2026 summer camp program at 8 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026. The link will close at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026. Parks and Recreation produced a video to remind people of the online lottery opening.
To handle the extremely high demand for spots in these camps, Parks and Recreation uses an online drawing system to randomly pick camp participants. Only children ages 5 (who have completed kindergarten) through 12 are eligible for spots in summer camp, and they must be St. Johns County residents.
The link will be posted on the Summer Camp 2026 web page at 8 a.m. on February 23, 2026. The drawing results will be emailed no later than March 24 and will not be shared prior to that date. Please wait for your results before contacting Parks and Recreation and remember to check your spam/junk mail folders. If your first choice for a camp location is full, your child will be placed in your second choice. If your second choice is full, you will receive a denial email, at which point you will have the option to be placed on a waiting list.
The 2026 camp locations are:
- Davis Park (210 Davis Park Road, Ponte Vedra)
- Ketterlinus Gym (60 Orange St., St. Augustine)
- Plantation Park (3060 Racetrack Road, St. Johns)
- Trout Creek (6795 Collier Road, St. Augustine)
Summer camp will run from June 8 through July 24, excluding June 19 and July 3. Campers participate in a variety of fun activities, including field trips, arts and crafts, and swimming. The standard program fee is $430 per child. Families with qualifying documentation may be eligible for reduced or free lunch rates of $330 or $230, respectively.
